Operating Principle of the Centrifugal Pump Thecentrifugal pumpis adynamic unitdesigned for thecontinuous transfer of fluids, even containingsuspended particles, atmedium-high flow rates. The operating principle is based on therotation of an impellerinside a pump body. The fluid is sucked axially to the center of the impeller (eye) thanks to the depression generated by the rotation, and subsequently thekinetic energyimpressed by the blades pushes it radially outwards. At the exit, the kinetic energy is partially converted intopressure energythanks to the shape of the diffuser or the desired one. The resulting effect is aconstant and regular flowof the exiting liquid. Operation does not require valves, and is ideal for applications that requirehigh flow rates, with low heads, andcontinuous operation.
